Pamera Hawaiian Cycling Shirts Review

There are some days you just want to go all casual and relaxed, maybe a ride to dinner with friends, or a work meeting. Just comfy, loose and free. But we know a  t-shirt usually doesn’t cut it does it… a soggy mess post ride, no breathability and where the hell do you put your phone, coffee money and keys?

Enter the Pamera ‘Hawaiian’ cycling shirt. I first came across them when the algorithms on socials decided I needed to see them. Yeah, more cycling ‘must have’ gear  to tempt me, mostly I resist…until I saw the pockets on the back of the Pamera shirt! I simply had to take a closer look.

He liked mine so much he decided it was his...and he wasn't giving it back!

I mulled over it for days. I put various designs in the ‘cart’, I changed my mind, deleted, then started all again…the

designs were so great I couldn’t decide which would be perfect, but a sucker for cute florals finally I hit ‘purchase’! To be honest, I was kind of expecting it to be like so many purchases online…big on promise, low on quality, and takes months before it arrives. But to my delight, a week after hitting that ‘purchase’ button the shirt arrived.

And I have to say, I was totally sold! Beautifully packaged in brown paper, a nice little card inside thanking me for my purchase and a gorgeous design that lived up to the photos on the website…only better actually. So good in fact, my husband stole the shirt from me, necessitating another order so I could have my own!

The soft lycra fabric has a slight texture which adds to the aeration. The cut is really like a classic ‘Hawaiian’ shirt with collar, slightly shaped to give a flattering cut that isn’t ‘boxy’, loose sleeves, loose around the body and a shaped hem line that makes it look like the shirt to wear when sipping pina coladas at the bar. But wait…three pockets on the back? Yes, just what every cyclist needs…the phone, the pina colada money, the keys. Everything now had a place.

I tested the shirt, as did husband. We were both totally sold on how cool and airy they feel. On those super-hot days of the Aussie summer, they are seriously brilliant. Perfect over bibs, or with shorts and they double as après velo…my husband even wore his to the family Christmas party (and we weren’t even cycling)! I love how the air flows through, and the loose feeling seems very cooling. The pockets are a serious bonus, and the designs are just fun and fabulous. There seems to be something to suit the conservative to those wanting to go loud.

A Spanish company started in 2023 by husband-and-wife team Pia and Marc, it seems their product is new to the Aussie market, but some well-placed socials advertising has certainly made it front and centre in my feed. The range is full of bright and fun shirts as well as a few long sleeve offerings and shorts. To be honest, I think the short sleever is the big winner and I’d have one in every design if I could…totally sold on these for summer! Oh and I have to say, I love their hashtag of #f*ckaerodynamics…who needs aero when you look so cool!
