We are super excited at Wheel Women to have former World Champion and Olympic Medallist Judith Arndt as part of the coaching team. With experience at the elite level for over 20 years, Judith also has the Cycling Australia Level 1 Road & Track Coaching and Introductory Skills Instructor Certificates, as well as the Level A Performance Coaching Certificate from the German Cycling Federation. Judith has brought her program of Faster is Fun to Wheel Women and if you're a Wheel Women member and it's performance* you need, then why not ask the World Champ! About Judith

My name is Judith and I’m an ex-professional cyclist. I’ve spent over twenty years of my life riding bikes at an elite level, mainly on the road and on the track. I participated in five Olympic Games, winning three medals in three different disciplines. I’ve been World Champion four times and I’ve won a further twelve silver and bronze medals at World Championships on the road and the track. I was German Champion twenty-one times in six different disciplines. I’ve been the lead rider and team captain in many races for professional teams as well as for the German national team, implementing race strategies and making tactical decisions on the road that enabled me or one of my teammates to win. Most of our victories were the result of perfect teamwork, and that makes me feel happy and proud.
I coached myself from 1997 until 2012 – the major part of my career. I was twenty years old when I decided to become my own coach. At first, I was met with a lot of resistance and scepticism by sports officials. However, I stood my ground, did a good job and became one of the most successful German athletes of my time. I was never afraid to ask for advice, but it was important to me to always be able to think for myself and to assume full responsibility for my performance. It takes more than talent, courage and hard training to become a world-class athlete: you need to gain and maintain a thorough understanding of how your body and mind works and how you can positively manipulate them. With this in mind, my approach to coaching is that it must lead to empowerment, and not dependency.
 
After I retired from racing in 2012, I took a break from cycling. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Cultural Studies from Macquarie University, and I gave birth to our two beautiful children who are now 4 and 2 years old. In 2019, I started to become involved with Wheel Women as a ride leader. I love Wheel Women’s vision of getting women into cycling by offering the environment and skills necessary for them to feel comfortable and confident, and to have fun – regardless of their level of riding. With my background, I feel that I have something unique to offer to promote this empowering vision: I can make you faster. And faster is fun! Be it to be able to ride with a particular group or to prepare for a cycling event (perhaps even a race!); be it to conquer a certain climb or to get to work (or home!) faster; be it to ride 50 …or 100 …or even 200 kilometres! Whatever your ‘performance goal’ might be – I have the expertise, motivation and perspective necessary to help you achieve it.

INITIAL FEE
  • evaluation of pre coaching questionnaire 

  • 2 hr session comprising a ride and a talk in order to assess your current levels of fitness and riding, determine your cycling goals and explain my coaching model)*session must take place within 25 km radius around postcode 3031

BRONZE PACKAGE

  • Individual monthly training program based on your abilities and goals while factoring in your other commitments such as family or work *delivered to you by first Monday of each month

  • Choice between TrainingPeaks software or a more traditional ‘pen-and-paper’ style of training management *other software possible – additional charges may apply

  • Fortnightly training data analysis and, if necessary, adjustments to your program

  • Fortnightly email or phone/Skype contact for advice and feedback

       $198 per month WW member

SILVER PACKAGE

  • Individual monthly training program based on your abilities and goals while factoring in your other commitments such as family or work *delivered to you by first Monday of each month

  • Choice between TrainingPeaks software or a more traditional ‘pen-and-paper’ style of training management *other software possible – additional charges may apply

  • Weekly training data analysis and, if necessary, adjustments to your program

  • Weekly email or phone/Skype contact for advice and feedback

       $275 per month WW members

GOLD PACKAGE

  • Individual monthly training program based on your abilities and goals & factoring in your other commitments such as family or work *delivered to you by first Monday of each month

  • Choice between TrainingPeaks software or a more traditional ‘pen-and-paper’ style of training management *other software possible – additional charges may apply

  • Ongoing training data analysis and, if necessary, adjustments to your program

  • Ongoing email, phone/Skype, Messenger or WhatsApp contact for advice and feedback

       $418 per month WW members

ADD ONS

  • 1-on-1 training session with coach – I attend a session you choose from your program to watch and guide you, providing real-time advice and feedback. *Session must take place with 25km radius of postcode 3031 **subject to availability

  • Race Tactics session •face-to-face session, *must take place within 5km radius of 3031 postcode
