Meet the Wheel Women Team...

TINA McCARTHY
Senior Instructor & Wheel Women Founder

Level 1 NCAS AustCycle Coach

This Girl Can - Victoria Ambassador

Seeing more women on bikes is Tina's passion!

Tina is an Ambassador for This Girl Can - Victoria, Jean Hailes for Women's Health and Specialized Bicycles and is the recipient of the Cycling Victoria Iris Dixon Award for contribution to women's cycling, as well as the Cycling Luminaries Award for Leadership.

With gestational diabetes during pregnancy the risk of mature onset diabetes was just too much of a looming reality. Tina knew she had to lose weight and exercise to decrease the odds of diabetes and stay healthy - it was insurance for a longer life! So, out came the bike again and all those feelings of freedom returned, as well as a chance for ‘coffee rides’ with friends...she knows all the best spots for a coffee!

'We've put together a FANTASTIC team of women who are ready to help you start riding and keep rolling. All of them have a real passion for riding and sharing the journey with other women and I can't think of a more fun team to hang out with. They all bring unique skills to Wheel Women and I just love riding with them all'

Tina loves...bike shops, anything pink and a glass of bubbles!

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A WHEEL WOMEN RIDE LEADER?

All our coaches and ride leaders are selected for their natural ability to connect with other women and share their passion for riding. They haven't all started out as 'pros' on the bike either...most have come from the Wheel Women rider pool and started out as beginners. But their passion for riding is their stand-out quality and their willingness to share that love with other women is unwavering.

If you think you have what it takes to be a Wheel Women Ride leader, then we'dlove to hear from you. We are always on the look-out for Ride Leaders in different areas. All we ask is that you commit to running one ride a month, have First Aid and a great knowledge of riding, experience and a willingness to show leadership to other women...that means empowering them to do their best. It's a voluntary role, but it comes with some perks!

If you'd like to apply, contact us at: info@wheelwomen.com.au
